  • Application & Product Guidelines

    • Application Methods: All sealers and clear coats may be applied using a brush, roller, cloth applicator, or spray equipment.
    • Spray Application: For spraying, a 0.8–1.3 fluid tip with approximately 16–35 PSI is recommended. Because these coatings are 100% solids, proper atomization is important. Use spray equipment designed for fine atomization and follow the equipment manufacturer’s setup guidelines.
    • Hand Application: When applying manually, use a stain applicator pad or lint-free cloth. A lint-free short nap roller may also be used. Foam rollers and foam brushes are not recommended, as they can introduce bubbles into the coating. If bubbles appear, continue wiping or allow the coating to self-level until the surface clears.
    • Reducing / Thinning: Products may be reduced up to 10% using 91–99% isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Do not substitute denatured alcohol.
    • Recommended Temperature: For optimal performance, apply coatings between 70°F and 110°F.
    • Mixing & Agitation: Satin and matte finishes should be shaken or mixed weekly to help prevent settling.
    • Sanding Between Coats: Use 320 grit or finer sandpaper between coats. Lower grit, aggressive abrasives are not recommended for these finishes.
    • Self-Leveling Properties: These coatings are self-leveling and remain workable until exposed to the proper curing light source or sunlight.
    • Curing Process: These products will not air dry. For indoor curing, use a compatible LED curing light such as a 395nm system. Under proper curing conditions, the finish can fully cure in approximately 2 minutes. Direct or indirect sunlight may also cure the coating. Ensure the entire coated surface receives light evenly at the same time. Section-by-section curing is not advised.
    • Coverage Rates: One quart covers approximately 402 sq. ft. at 1 mil thickness, while one gallon covers roughly 1,608 sq. ft. at the same film build.
    • Testing First: Always test application and curing methods on sample pieces before coating a finished project. This helps confirm compatibility and familiarize yourself with product behavior.
    • Shelf Life & Storage: When stored away from light exposure, products may remain usable for up to 18 months. Keep containers sealed during use and avoid exposing open material to indirect sunlight from windows or doors.
    • Workspace Lighting Check: To determine if your workspace lighting may prematurely cure the coating, place about 1 inch of product in a clear plastic cup within the work area and monitor it every 10–20 minutes for signs of curing.
    • Safety Equipment: Use the same protective equipment you would typically wear with solvent-based coatings. Nitrile gloves are strongly recommended during handling and application.
  • Additional Product Information

    • Review the SDS and TDS documentation for each product prior to use.
    • These coatings typically require significantly less material than conventional finishes while helping speed up production times.
    • Formulated as a 100% solids system with no VOCs, meaning the applied coating remains after cure with minimal material loss.
    • Clear topcoats are offered in gloss, satin, and matte sheen options.
    • Products within the same coating line can be blended together to create custom sheen levels.
